The Worshipful Company of Distillers
he Worshipful Company of Distillers provides the following annual bursaries for WSET spirits qualifications:
Three Level 3 Award in Spirits bursaries
Eight Level 2 Award in Spirits bursaries
The Drinks Trust administers these bursaries for The Worshipful Company of Distillers and WSET.
Please note that applications for The Worshipful Company of Distillers bursary funding are now closed for 2024, but you can register your interest for 2025 by contacting alex@drinkstrust.org.uk.
WSET UK Bursary Scheme
WSET operates a bursary scheme which is designed to help potential students in the UK who would otherwise be unable to take a WSET qualification due to financial hardship. Bursaries are available for Levels 1-3 Awards in Wines, Spirits and Sake. Applications for WSET's UK bursary scheme are handled by The Drinks Trust under the Develop initiative.

SWA
The SWA has also launched a scholarship in collaboration with Heriot-Watt University, with the aim of improving access to Heriot-Watt’s globally renowned Brewing and Distilling degree course among demographics that are under-represented in the Scotch Whisky industry.
Majestic
They are currently gearing up for their fourth in-take of the scholarship. When applications are open again, they will advertise on their careers website, Linkedin, and social media.
Liquid Icons
Liquid Icons was founded by two friends, Gerard Basset OBE MW MS and Lewis Chester DipWSET, so that they could “do stuff” together in wine. The two friends, however, did not know what ‘stuff’ they would do in the company! When Gerard discovered that he had terminal cancer, the need to create something lasting and emphatic that would help create a lasting legacy for Gerard’s incredible achievements became a singular goal for the company. They have a number of Scholarships available.
